On the face of it, ‘Country Mafia’ is a revenge saga, but as the episodes unfold, it unleashes every possible trope of a dark political thriller set in the heartland of India. Chausa in Bihar is besieged by illegal liquor Mafia, after the ban on it and the thriving businesses has created monsters out of these unscrupulous businessmen. Leading among them is Babban (Ravi Kishan) – a man who can go to any lengths to achieve his nefarious goals.
Be it slicing a man’s throat dug deep into the ground or blatantly showing off his chauvanstic side. He also has a Godman-on-call Mahant (Satish Kaushik), for some ill-advice and divine intervention. But his unholy crimes set him up against a determined family led by its fiery matriach Mamta (Anita Raaj), who is baying for his blood.
