When a fire broke out at the Uphaar Cinema in South Delhi on the evening of June 13, 1997, it became one of the most horrifying events in recent history. That evening, 59 innocent people were killed and 100 more suffered severe injuries in the horrific catastrophe that occurred in the Cinema Hall.
Since that incident, a lot has been said and written about it, but for the first time ever, the world will see it through the eyes of a camera thanks to the smash hit novel Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy.
The series will explain what happened to the victims and how they were compelled to seek justice in the wake of their tremendous losses; regrettably, there are currently a great number of other people in analogous circumstances.
In addition to running the show, Prashant Nair is in front of the camera directing the series. Neelam and Shekhar, the real-life couple who lost their two children in the horrible incident and had to wage a protracted battle for justice, will be portrayed by Abhay Deol and Rajshri Deshpande in the series.
